Hello friends! Every month I highlight volunteering opportunities with mutual aid groups. This month there are a few highlights I want to call your attention to.

[**The Everywhere Project**](https://www.instagram.com/the%5Feverywhere%5Fproject/?ref=theplatia.com) **is in need of a few new volunteers. Last month I noted that** [**they also need chefs**](https://www.theplatia.com/philly-cooking-volunteers/)**. They are a wonderful woman-led org that does the tough work in Kensington, and you'll be in great hands learning about harm reduction when you volunteer with them. You'll find their events in the calendar below.**

The Familiar Hearts Animal Society is having an orientation for folks who are interested in volunteering with them. At the event you'll learn about all the ways you can help and what kind of personalities and skills work best with their org.

Signing up for this free newsletter helps me get more hands to more mutual aid groups. You can unsubscribe at any time.

This month I found a few low-cost and free events that build community, and I wanted to share them as well. There will be two volunteering newsletters this month to handle so many entries.

Since distros and events can change, please double check with each individual group before you show up.

## **Before You Go**

Most organizations recommend wearing comfortable clothes, closed-toe shoes, and bringing a reusable water bottle. Many food rescue shifts involve lifting produce boxes, while outreach events often take place outdoors in all weather. If you're new, don't worry—every one of these groups welcomes first-time volunteers and will show you what to do.

Volunteering with even one organization can make a meaningful difference, but spending a month getting to know several of Philadelphia's mutual aid groups is also a great way to build relationships and discover where your skills and interests fit best.
