As previously reported, the Department of Health Resource Hubs across Philly, which provided public health supplies, testing and emergency-need products, are closing. Some of the services offered will move to other locations, and some services will discontinue. Messaging from the city has been vague, and I will continue to monitor.
The services will move to Neighborhood Community Action Centers, which function as mini city hall forums, where neighbors can bring up hyper local issues. These centers are run by community board members and you can find a full list of locations with the Department of Health.
Here's the former locations, and the nearest Neighborhood Community Action Center that will house the hubs.
South Philadelphia Resource Hub
Previously at 500 Snyder Ave. and closed in December, will relocate to the nearest NCAC at 1200 Carpenter St.
Southwest Philadelphia Resource Hub
Previously located at 5747 Warrington Ave. will relocate to the nearest NCAC at 6150 Cedar Ave.
North Philadelphia Resource Hub
Previously located at 200 E. Wyoming Ave. will relocate to the nearest NCAC at 3201 N. 5th St.
South Street Resource Hub
Previously located at 1700 South St. will relocate to the nearest NCAC at 1200 Carpenter St.
West Philadelphia Resource Hub
Previously located at 6006 W. Girard Ave. will relocate to the nearest NCAC at 5630 Vine St.
Services that will be offered include STI and health screenings and harm reduction supplies. For other locations to secure harm reduction supplies, condoms, COVID tests, Plan B, sharps contains and other health items, check with your nearest mutual aid group. If they run a food distribution table, they likely have health supplies with them.
